Privacy Policy

The short version

We use the Meta Pixel, an advertising tool from Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram), to measure how well our Facebook and Instagram ads work. If you choose to, we also set one cookie of our own so we can remember pieces you've saved. We never sell your data. You can turn the Meta Pixel off at any time with Cookie Settings in the footer.

What we collect

When you accept cookies, we store a single cookie named lff_visitor_id in your browser. This cookie contains a randomly generated UUID — a string of letters and numbers that is unique to your browser but carries no personal information whatsoever. It cannot be used to identify you as an individual.

We also record which pieces you save to your wishlist and, if you arrive via a marketing link, the UTM campaign parameters in that link (e.g. utm_source=instagram). Apart from the Meta Pixel described below, nothing else is collected unless you send it to us through a form or a chat with Harold.

Meta Pixel (advertising measurement)

Our site loads the Meta Pixel, a small piece of code from Meta Platforms, Inc. It tells Meta which pages you visit here and what you do on them: which products you view, when you tap our phone number or email address, when you open or send an enquiry form, and when you start a chat with Harold. With this information we can measure our Facebook and Instagram ads and show them to people likely to be interested, including people who have visited our site before.

Meta may set its own cookies (such as_fbp) and may link this activity to your Facebook or Instagram account if you have one. What Meta does with that information is covered byMeta's Privacy Policy. We do not send Meta the contents of your enquiries or chats, or your name, email or phone number. The Meta Pixel is not loaded on our staff-only pages.

You can also control ads based on your activity in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings, and through theDigital Advertising Alliance of Canada.

Why we collect it

• To remember pieces you save so they reappear on your next visit
• To allow our AI assistant Harold to recall pieces you've shown interest in during a return visit
• To understand broadly which marketing channels bring visitors to our showroom (aggregate only, never individual profiles)
• To measure our Facebook and Instagram ads and show them to people likely to be interested (Meta Pixel)

Cookie duration

The lff_visitor_id cookie expires after 365 days. It is renewed automatically on each visit while it remains active.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your data, or pass it to data brokers
• We do not share what you type into forms or Harold with Meta or any advertiser
• We do not use Google Analytics
• We do not use browser fingerprinting

Turning tracking off

Open Cookie Settings in the footer and choose “Browse Without Saving”. From then on the Meta Pixel is not loaded, our own cookie is not set, and we record nothing about your visit. Your wishlist will still work for the duration of your browser session but will be cleared when you close the tab.

Withdrawing consent

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking Cookie Settings in the footer of any page. You may also clear cookies directly in your browser settings. Your choice is saved in your browser, so if you clear your browser data you will need to make it again. Browser ad blockers and “tracking prevention” settings will also block the Meta Pixel.

Data storage and security

Visitor records are stored in a Supabase (PostgreSQL) database hosted in the United States (Amazon Web Services, Oregon). All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to the database is restricted to authenticated service-role connections only; no visitor data is exposed publicly.

Because that database is located outside Canada, the information we hold about you is stored and processed in the United States, and may be accessible to United States courts, law enforcement and government authorities under the laws of that country. We remain accountable for your information while it is in the hands of our service providers, and require them to protect it under terms comparable to this policy.

Compliance

This policy is designed to comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Quebec's Law 25 (Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector). We collect only what is described above, and you can turn off the Meta Pixel and our cookie at any time.
